Conduct a Business Review

If you’ve ever researched competitors in the past, you’ll have no doubt searched for them online, looked through their price list and maybe even paid them a visit. All of these aspects are just as important when reviewing your own business.

Take some time to look around online and get a feel for how you come across; visit your social media pages, establish the usability of your website, and check out client reviews. Establish how easy (or difficult) it is to find out basic information about your business. After all, this is exactly what a potential client will do so it’s essential you make it as easy as possible for people to find you.

What Do Existing Clients See?

First and foremost, establish what your existing clients see when they use your services. Where do they sit when they come to your salon? Are there visible and clear advertisements or visuals about the treatments and products that you offer?

If people don’t know what you can offer them, they can’t buy it. Therefore, make the effort to ensure that there is attention to detail when it comes to advertising your products and services in-house. Place a display stand near the waiting area and put price lists within reach of your clients for them to peruse as they wait.

How Much Information is Available?

Prospective clients like to know details. There are a number of questions that potential clients may have. These may include:

  • What treatments do you offer?
  • What review rating does your business have?
  • What are the steps involved in a common treatment?
  • Are there any side effects?
  • Do you have parking?
  • Can I find a price list?
  • What are your opening times?
  • What facilities are available (i.e. are you disabled friendly?)

These are only some of the questions that may be going through a prospective clients head. Therefore, whether it is through your Facebook page or website, you must ensure that this type of information is easily accessible.

Make a Statement

Why not try something different in order to grab the attention of potential clients?

  • Host an open day where you launch a new product or treatment and invite the local community.
  • Create a blog (you must ensure this is kept regularly updated for optimum engagement)
  • Advertise locally in newspapers.
  • Put in place a referral scheme
  • Offer rewards and loyalty points for new and existing clients.

These are only some of the very simple ways in which you can make your business more visible. Of course, proper planning is key as is sticking within an allocated budget, so try not to get too carried away.
